Kanselado

But that doesn't mean we shouldn't celebrate. I've been watching several transgender-themed movies and documentaries to educate myself. I recommend Transamerica, Something Must Break and the Netflix original Disclosure. No pandemic will stop us celebrating our colorful lives.

Dahil bawal lumabas by Kim Chiu, dumagsa ang mga YouTube videos from different content creators. Totoo talagang she's very down to Earth and very kumare ang peg kaya isa siya sa well-loved Pinay queens.

Recently, umani ng batikos ang pag-guest ni Kevin Balot sa Queentuhan hosted by Pia Wurtzbach, Bianca Guidotti and Carla Lizardo. Malinaw na sinabi niyang hindi niya bet sumali ang transgender women sa Miss Universe because she feels that it's not equality anymore. It's asking too much na daw. JUICE KOH! KALOKA! And while listening to it, ang taray pa ng tono ni madame habang sinasambit ang mga salitang 'yan. YAY! It was also obvious that the host didn't expect that coming from her. Coming from a Miss International Queen. Sad. Bilang damage-control, heto ang kanyang statement via Twitter:

I'm not buying this because of some points. Una, hindi straight English ang usapan nila. They were talking in Taglish. The choices of words used by Kevin during the interview was a little bit harsh sa transgender community na patuloy na nakikipaglaban sa pantay na karapatan. Transgender women wanting to join traditional beauty pageants is not a sign of disrespect or asking for too much right. Lastly, I feel that the point came from a privileged person given that she can pass as a straight woman. Iba siguro ang karanasan niya vs. those who can't pass kahit 'sangkaterbang pillar na ang nilaklak. At kahit hindi ka physically nag-transition, you can't deny to yourself that you're a woman.

Honeslty, I'm still educating myself until now. If I don't have enough information about a certain topic, I'd rather park it and will give you my point once I'm fully informed.

Kevin was given a strong platform at sana nagamit niya sa mas nakakabuti. I don't believe in the "cancel culture" that we have in social media pero kapag nagkamali ang isang tao, I hope they learn how to be responsible and be accountable for that. Don't twist the situation and tell more lies because darling, we hear lies when we hear one. But I believe on her last statement, that she'll take this as a step to improve herself.

It's not too late, Kevin. Hope you become a better person after this issue.
