40th birthday ni Liberty 'Libay' Sibulburo at maraming lalaki na ang nagdaan sa buhay niya. When I say marami, mahihiya ang pila sa Uniqlo kapag may mall-wide sale. CHAR! Nagsimula ito noong high school siya bilang pambayad 'utang' sa lalaking nagpakita ng kabutihan sa kanya. At kahit tumuntong na siya sa BIG FOUR-OH, hindi siya nababakante. Sanaol 'di ba??? Bilang birthday niya, natural lang na maging emosyonal at kwestiyunin kung bakit nga naman hindi nagtatagal ang mga lalaki sa kanya. Nasoplak siya ng kaibigang si Randy habang nag-iinuman sa tabing-dagat. Kapokpokan daw ang dahilan kung bakit ganoon ang nangyayari. Although na-hurt si gaga at first, may self introspection naman siya.

Iniwan siya ni Randy sa buhanginan para rumampa nang makita niya ang isang floating cottage. Naintriga siya kaya pinasok ito. Dahil medyo tipsy na, siya'y nakatulog sa loob. Paggising niya, nasa ibang siglo na siya. 1880. Yes, ma'am! Napunta siya sa nakaraan at dito nakilala si Pepe, ang lalaking nagpatibok sa kanyang puso at trinato siyang dalisay na mujer. 

Tumira siya sa bahay ni Madam Perfecta kasama ang ilang mayuyuming estudyante at si Kimberly, isang transgender woman na tulad niya ay galing sa future. Ito ang tangi niyang naging kakampi at kakwentuhan sa mga ganap niya sa buhay makaluma. Ang maganda kay Kimberly, hindi siya nito kinampihan sa lahat ng kagagahan niya. Real talk kung real talk kapag nababaliw siya sa lalaki.

Hindi ko kayo i-spoil sa mga iba pang ganap dahil gusto kong ma-experience niyo kung ano ang naging buhay ni Libay sa nakaraan. Ilang pahina pa lang ang nababasa ko, ang lakas na nang tawa ko. Madaling araw ko pa naman sinimulang basahin at tahimik na sa labas kaya para akong gaga sa kakapigil humalakhak. Relate na relate ako sa kalandian ni Libay dahil karamihan doon ay pantasya kong gawin at may panahon pa para gawin in real life. CHOS! Pero pinatunayan ni Libay na ang kalandian ay nilalagay sa lugar. Hindi lahat papatulan, hindi lahat karapat-dapat ipaglaban. Minsan dapat huminto at bumitaw lalo na sa mga pagkakataong alam mong walang mananalo. Landi with dignity. GANON! Hindi niya lang ako pinatawa, pinaiyacc din ako ng gagah!

Ito na ang pangalawang self-published book ni Joni Fontanos na nabasa ko. Una ang Beki Problems na naging patok na online series noong kasagsagan ng COVID-19 starring Chad Kinis. Tulad ng Beki Problems, napakasarap maglahad ng istorya ni Joni, hindi kinulang sa sangkap ng aliw at drama. Detalyado. Graphic kung graphic! Saktong timpla ng realidad. Hindi pretensyosa, hindi ka lulunurin sa perfect characters at mga lugar na mahirap imaginin dahil 'di mo pa napuntahan sa mahal. Simula nang ma-lockdown tayo, madami ang nag-panic buying ng alcohol at vitamins para iwas virus at palakasin ang resistensya. Ending, nagkaroon ng shortage sa supply sa taas ng demand. Apektado kasi ang produksyon dahil konti lang ang pwedeng pumasok sa kani-kanilang mga trabaho. Mga bandang June or July na lang yata unti-unting nareplenish ang stocks at nagkaroon ng inflation. 'Yung dating Ascorbic Acid ng Watsons na 100+ pesos lang ang isang box ay naging lagpas 200 na. KALOKA!

Mukhang lucky day ko, mga ateng, dahil ang mga indie movies na pinanood ko dati sa sinehan ay bonggang binebenta sa moraytang halaga. Gaano kamorayta? 25php sa VCD at cincuenta ang DVD. AYLABET!

The Amazing Race Asia Season 5

Sony Pictures Television (SPT) Networks, Asia is bringing back The Amazing Race Asia for a fifth season.

AXN was home to the previous four seasons, with the most recent edition concluding in 2010, and will now air season five. The show will debut in its fifth run on AXN in late 2016. Ten teams chosen from across the Asia-Pacific region will compete for a chance at the winning crown and US$100,000 in cash.

Hosted by Allan Wu, The Amazing Race Asia Season 5 is looking for couples or pairs (with pre-existing relationships) who are ready to face different challenges as they race around the world.

Free, Anonymous, and Fast HIV Screening 

for AIDS Memorial & LGBT Pride

LoveYourself, Inc., the leading non-government organization on HIV awareness and testing in the country, will be holding its first free, anonymous, and fast HIV screening on May 29 at Victoria Court Malate in an effort to support the causes brought about by the Philippine International AIDS Candlelight Memorial 2016 and the LGBT Pride Month this May and June respectively.

By being anonymous, LoveYourself will employ a system of client identification known as the Unique Identifier Code to distinguish a client without revealing its name, and to eliminate filling out of lengthy identification forms leading to reduced times and increased efficiency. Clients will then be subjected to “Rapid Test” which involves pricking a finger to get just two (2) drops of blood for screening. The entire procedure will not take more than 15 minutes inclusive of counseling on safer sex practices to lower the risk of HIV infection as well as an explanation on the results of the test.

As the event promises anonymity and speed, the organization earnestly calls all interested individuals to simply register at go.loveyourself.ph/incognito to avail of a slot. Then prospective clients will just need to arrive on the said screening date and venue between 10:00 a.m. -7:00 p.m.

“Through LoveYourself Incognito, we aim to encourage the untapped populations who are afraid to go out in the open and get screened,” said LoveYourself Executive Director Ronivinn G. Pagtakhan. He added that while the event focuses on the male population, the group also welcomes females and transgender friends to avail of the free HIV screening services.

The group also emphasizes its Tatak LoveYourself promise of service that is Iniingatan at Inaasikaso (being well-taken care of) by carefully considering the needs of individuals in affected populations who may be anxious or uncomfortable to avail of any sexually transmitted infections-related services.

LoveYourself Incognito is also in response to the alarming rise of HIV infections, in which the Department of Health reported 736 new cases in March 2016, wherein 97% of which were males. This is 10% higher than the 667 cases in the same period last year.

In the first quarter of 2016, an average of 25 Filipinos daily now get infected with the virus that when left untreated may severely weaken the immune system and lead to acquired immune deficiency syndrome or AIDS, a condition where the body is no longer able to fight off various diseases and infections.
