Three milestones in Philippine cinema at the 69th Venice International Film Festival (August 29-September 8, 2012): Brillante Mendoza's "Thy Womb," starring Nora Aunor, to premiere and vie for awards in the Main Competition section; the restored version of the Bernal-Lee-Aunor classic "Himala" (courtesy of ABS-CBN Corporation) to be screened in the Venice Classics section; and the restored version of Manuel Conde's 1952 classic "Genghis Khan" to be screened in the retrospective "80!" section. These Venice Film Festival achievements also add more feathers in Superstar Nora Aunor's well-decorated cap. She earns the distinction of having two films (Thy Womb and Himala) in a major international film event in the same year. Aunor will also be the first Filipino actor to have films screened in the three most prestigious film festivals in the world: Cannes, Berlin, and Venice.
